Bridgehaven Specialty UK Limited (Bridgehaven), the UK’s specialist risk-taking hybrid insurer, has appointed Jamie Wakeling as its new Head of Underwriting Strategy.
Jamie has extensive underwriting experience in the London reinsurance market. His most recent role was as Group CUO at Ocean Re, having previously worked at Canopius for 20 years in underwriting and reinsurance leadership roles.
Bridgehaven’s highly experienced underwriting team works closely with partner MGAs and reinsurers to deliver long-term capacity solutions and diversification. Jamie will lead strategic initiatives across the classes of business insured and reinsured by Bridgehaven with a focus upon building out profitable and credible underwriting opportunities as the scale of the business grows in the UK, Europe and internationally.
He will also provide guidance and leadership on complex reinsurance placements.
