We partner exclusively with MGAs and work closely with carefully selected reinsurers that share our focus on underwriting profitability and sustainable performance.
Through our risk retention model, we typically retain 10% to 20% of every risk, demonstrating confidence in the businesses we support while ensuring alignment between all stakeholders. This approach provides greater flexibility, enhanced governance and stronger long-term outcomes for MGAs and reinsurers.

Erik Matson serves as Founder and Chairman of Bridgehaven Specialty Insurance, helping to shape the hybrid-fronting insurance market across the UK and Europe.
He previously co-founded Transverse Insurance Group, the industry’s largest hybrid-fronting carrier, leading its growth and sale to Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group. Erik brings extensive expertise in insurance innovation, strategic growth, underwriting and capital partnerships.
Esther serves as Chair of the Bridgehaven Specialty DAC Board and brings over 25 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector.
A former General Counsel and Company Secretary, she has held senior leadership roles at QBE and MS Amlin and is recognised for her expertise in governance, regulation, risk oversight and organisational transformation.
Paul Jewell serves as Chief Executive Officer of Bridgehaven UK, leading the UK’s first hybrid fronting insurer since its inception in 2023 and driving its strategic growth across the specialty insurance market.
With more than 38 years of international insurance experience, Paul has worked across multi-territorial positions such as global CUO for SME business at AIG and CEO of Best Doctors Insurance. Having held CEO, Director and Underwriting roles in various MGAs, insurers and reinsurer, Paul has a unique perspective of establishing and growing new businesses. He brings extensive experience in leadership, specialty insurance, capital management and building new and scalable insurance platforms.
Fiona Marry serves as Chief Executive Officer of Bridgehaven Europe, leading the company’s European operations from Dublin.
With more than 35 years’ experience in the insurance industry, she has held CEO and Chief Underwriting Officer roles at Hamilton Insurance DAC and served as CEO of USAA EU DAC. Fiona brings extensive expertise in underwriting, executive leadership and international insurance markets, with a strong focus on partnership development and sustainable growth.
